There are three looks that I do when I’m doing shows that I kind of switch off between. Especially with touring, I’m happy that I get a little bit of a break right now. It’s such a marathon, and I think that sometimes it’s easy to have your favorite looks and stick with them. It’s so nonstop that it can feel a bit overwhelming when you’re just trying to do too much. One of them is a cat-eye with a light lip; another is more of a brow with a dark, maroon lip. And then the third is a smudgy, smoky eye, with not a nude lip and not a dark lip, but one that’s just blotted with red lipstick. You don’t even put it on, you just blot it and it looks like you have a kind of bloodstain on your lips.BANKS for style.com
Goddess is such a powerful piece of work. How did you translate all of your experiences and all of that vulnerability that you can hear in the record everytime you perform?
